The European tourist market is gradually recovering from the prolonged crisis period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In May, sales of travel packages to major tourist destinations decreased by only 14% compared to the same month in 2020. In April 2021, the drop was 77%, in March - 82%.
According to data on online and offline sales of tours to Europe, in May, the demand for France among tourists doubled. According to this indicator, Greece (+16%), which opened its borders to foreign tourists earlier than other EU countries, and Spain (+15%) also entered the top three most popular European destinations among travelers.
Italy is not yet able to stabilize the situation: 59% less tours were purchased than in May 2020.
