Four new ethnic villages will appear in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in order to preserve the traditional way of life of the indigenous population and develop the types of primordial economic activities, TASS reports.

Ethnic villages will be created on behalf of the governor of the region.

As part of this project, a special farm for raising musk oxen will be created in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The first calves have already been brought to the farm.

Local residents will reportedly breed these animals for wool and carry out breeding work.

In prehistoric times, musk oxen inhabited the territory of Siberia, but disappeared for unknown reasons.

Currently, scientists are working to restore the livestock of this species in Russia.
