The Tourist Information Center (TIC) of the Magadan Region reported on its website that the Golden Vertical mountaineering and rock climbing festival will be held in the region on October 9th.
“At 10 a.m., the opening of the festival will take place on the rocks of Nyuklinsky beach, and at 11 a.m. demonstration performances of Kolyma climbers will begin, among which will be members of the group that made the first ascent of the route along the eastern couloir of the South Face of Mount Trog, the first official climbing route of the Magadan Region,” the portal reports. .
Then everyone will be able to independently go through specially equipped slopes on the rocks as part of master classes in mountaineering and rock climbing.
World Tourism Day, to which the festival is dedicated, is celebrated annually on September 27 in more than 150 countries, including Russia. In the Magadan region, this holiday will be celebrated from September 24 to October 9.
In addition to the mountaineering and rock climbing festival, other events will be held in the region as part of the Tourism Day - free excursions, hiking, tourist competitions for adults and children, the TIC noted.
In addition, according to the national tourist portal Russia Travel, on September 27, applications for the regional photography contest "Discover Kolyma" will begin, which is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Magadan Region. And on October 1, the Gornyak recreation area will host the Magadan Sports Tourism Championship at walking distances.
The next day there will be children's starts in the snowless disciplines of the Merry Dog sledding sport. Young participants together with their four-legged friends will compete on the track in a pea field.
