Festival of Caucasian cuisine "KuNaK" will be held in Karachay-Cherkessia

A large culinary festival will be held from July 30 to 31 at the Arkhyz resort. It is expected that 50 eminent chefs from 21 regions of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia will take part in the event.

Guests of the festival will be able to taste the traditional dishes of the highlanders for free. Chefs will prepare 100 khychins, 100 liters of okroshka, Nogai tea and bean soup with rice and bread sticks, as well as 100 kilograms of plav achar, libzhe and byshlak bishirgen.

The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Karachay-Cherkessia. On the same day, honorary guests of the festival will lay a time capsule at the resort with recipes for authentic Caucasian cuisine, which will be opened by descendants in 50 years.

On July 31, the resort will host the Great Fire Games championship of the North Caucasus in culinary arts. Members of the World Association of Chefs will evaluate the work of the participants.

Visitors will be able to take part in various master classes for two days. Professionals will share with them the secrets of making Ossetian pies and Balkarian khychins.

In addition, at the festival it will be possible to taste the national food of the Urals, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Asia.
