The air harbor of the resort will introduce automated passport control for holders of biometric Russian passports. The control system will allow crossing the border in a simplified mode based on biometric data. Currently, preparations are underway for the installation of such systems at six international airports in the country, including Sochi airport.
- Passengers will be identified through the Unified Biometric System, which compares the data in the passport with the information of the owner in 45 seconds. It will be possible to go through passport control without a queue, the press-service of the airport said.
Check-in counters have been opened at Sochi Airport, designed for passengers who travel "light". They will work faster than usual due to the absence of the need to check in luggage. This will reduce the check-in time for passengers and increase the throughput of the terminal. There are already three such racks, but if necessary, their number will be increased to seven. The counters are not tied to a particular airline, but are universal.
