The Kingdom of Morocco, the oldest Muslim country in northwestern Africa, is becoming increasingly attractive to guests from Europe. According to the Moroccan Tourism Observatory, the number of tourists in Morocco grew by 5.2% in 2019 - mainly due to European markets.
This trend has continued for several years, and so far, according to analysts, it has a substantial growth reserve. The Italians were the most active market last year - the arrivals grew by 9% compared to 2018, the British - 8%, the French and Spaniards - 6%, the Dutch - 4%.
Moreover, more than half of all overnight stays of tourists are provided by two resorts - Marrakesh and Agadir, where in 2019 the number of tourists increased, respectively, by 6% and 3%.
Total tourism revenue in Morocco in 2019 amounted to $ 9.6 billion, an increase of 7.7%.
