Egypt Breaks Tourist Records in the First Half of 2024

Egypt has reported a record number of tourists visiting the Land of the Pyramids in the first half of 2024. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, 7.1 million tourists vacationed in the country during this period.

The country's treasury earned $6.6 billion in revenues.Ministry officials note that compared to the same period last year, the number of foreign guests' nights spent in Egypt significantly increased. In the first six months of 2024, foreign visitors spent 70.2 million nights, compared to 67.6 million nights in the first half of 2023. In 2010, considered one of the most successful years in the history of the Egyptian tourism industry, the number of foreign visitor nights reached 65.7 million.

In 2023, Egypt welcomed 14.9 million tourists, with 14.7 million visiting in 2010. Over the next five years, Egypt is aiming to reach a total of 30 million foreign tourists by implementing the national tourism strategy aimed at enhancing offerings, improving services, and diversifying tourist destinations.
