Chinese medical workers will not pay for visiting museums and major tourist attractions in many regions of the country in gratitude for their dedicated work in combating the coronavirus epidemic.
Hundreds of tourist sites and attractions across China joined this noble initiative.
The ancient city of Xi'an, one of the most popular tourist places in the country, with its 34 tourist sites will participate in the action, including the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, where the famous army of terra cotta warriors is exhibited. As soon as life goes back to normal after the virus, doctors and nurses will be welcome visitors here.
More than 200 tourist attractions in Shanxi province in northern China will offer preferential conditions for a certain period of time for medical workers and their families, as well as for the police, when they resume their activities after the epidemic.
Guizhou Province in southwestern China also announced that this year it will abolish entry fees for 420 tourist destinations for healthcare providers. Similar policies will also be pursued in the Chinese provinces of Shandong, Hebei, Yunnan, Anhui, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Jiangsu, as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Tianjin Municipality.
