Cuba has closed its borders to tourists since Tuesday for a month because of the coronavirus.
According to the authorities, Cuba, where 40 cases of covid-19 have been registered, currently has a total of 32.500 foreign tourists, mostly Canadians, as well as French and Spanish. They are quarantined in hotels.
Tourism is the second source of income for the Cuban economy. In 2018, the state treasury's revenue from the tourism industry totaled US$ 3.3 billion.
