Bushfire destroyed 2.5 hectares of protected forest in Yalta

A fire broke out in the Crimean Yalta Mountain Forest Reserve.

According to the main department of the Russian Emergency Ministry for the Republic of Crimea, the rescue service received a message about a fire in the reserve on Sunday afternoon. 2 hectares of forest cover was destroyed by fire. A strong gusty wind contributed to the spread of the fire.

The firefighting service operative group of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergency Ministry for the Republic of Crimea, employees of the Crimean National Park, the water canal of the Southern Coast of Crimea, and volunteers acted to tackle the incident.

The fire was localized on an area of ​​2.5 hectares.
