The mating of brown bears in the Valley of Geysers have died down and now the "pearl of Kamchatka" is again ready to receive tourists.
“A month of silence has ended in the Uzon-Geyserny District, during which the protected areas are closed for visiting,” the press service of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve reported.
“Every year, restrictions are introduced in order not to interfere with the animals during the mating season. It is also necessary for the safety of tourists, because at this time the animals behave the most aggressively.”
Now that the "bear weddings" are over and the birds have hatched new offspring, travel agencies can resume excursion programs in one of the most picturesque corners of Kamchatka.
Interesting observations of the "mating" bears in the caldera of the Uzon volcano and the Valley of Geysers were made by naturalist photographer Igor Shpilenok as part of his photo expedition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Russian reserves.
