Sochi will host the traditional Yury Bashmet Winter International Arts Festival. One of the most significant events for the cultural life of the country will be held at the resort for the sixteenth time from February 15 to 27, 2023. Since 2011, the festival has been a member of the European Association of Festivals, included in the top twenty of the best in the world.
The event this year received a special personal coloring, in January the artistic director of the festival, an outstanding musician and conductor, maestro Yuri Bashmet, turned 70 years old. Under the auspices of this festive date, the maestro will gather in Sochi the best concerts of academic, jazz, ethnic music, masterpieces of ballet, drama, art, educational and educational projects, exhibitions, marathons and children's programs, and much more.
- Among the star participants of this year are maestro Yuri Bashmet himself, famous theater and film artists Yevgeny Mironov, Konstantin Khabensky, Sergei Garmash, Elizaveta Boyarskaya, one of the best contemporary opera singers Ildar Abdrazakov, the jazz band Zule Guerra and Blues de Habana (Cuba), prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Svetlana Zakharova and a great violinist Vadim Repin, theater company Aditi Mangaldas (India) and others. As well as all three ensembles of Maestro Bashmet: the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra, the Grammy Award winner, the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble and the unique All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, the press service of the festival reports.
The festival in Sochi this year will combine the arrival of several famous and cult representatives of conductors. Festival participants will be Justus Frantz, Teodor Currentzis and his Musica Aeterna and a close friend of Yuri Bashmet - Valery Gergiev.
