Asturian authorities intend to launch a program under which tourism professionals will receive training in the development of ecotourism and environmental sustainability.

As EcoTourism Expert come to know, the ultimate goal of the program is the creation of the National Ecotourism Club, which will unite travel companies operating on the territory of the seven biosphere reserves of the Principality.

According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism Graciela Blanco, the government intends to unite all the protected areas of Asturias into one club, "in order to contribute to the marketing of the Principality as the leader of ecotourism in Spain."

She also noted that the principality hopes for cooperation in the field of training from the Secretary of State for Tourism and other stakeholders of the industry.

The Principality of Asturias is a region in northwestern Spain. It is famous for its pristine landscapes - a rocky coast and mountains.
