Assam sees over 700% growth in foreign tourists & 500% in domestic tourists number in 2022

India's Northeastern State Assam saw over 700% growth in foreign tourists, and about a 500% increase in domestic tourists number in 2022, in comparison to 2021.
 
The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) recently organised a B2B roadshow in Mumbai to promote the state as a film tourism-friendly state. In the State’s New Tourism Policy, special focus has been given to EoDB and facilitating single window clearance for Film Tourism or shooting movies.
 
Assam tourism recently conducted a B2B roadshow in Mumbai. The event was inaugurated by Assam’s Minister of Tourism Jayanta Malla Baruah and ATDC Chairman, Vice Chairman, Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt of Assam - Tourism Department, Secretary to the Govt of Assam - Tourism Department, and other key officials from Assam Tourism were present at the event.
 
During the event, an MoU was signed between Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation for the cross-promotion of tourism in both States.
