The capital of Turkish tourism, Antalya, received more than 8.6 million tourists in the first 10 months of this year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the city authorities said.
In 2020, Antalya, which accounts for a third of Turkey's tourism revenues, was visited by only 3.5 million foreign travelers.
This year, Russia accounted for the largest number of tourists who visited Antalya on vacation – almost 3.5 million people, which is 145% more than in the previous year. Ukrainians were in second place in terms of numbers (more than 1.2 million), Germans were in third place (more than 1.1 million).
Antalya authorities expect that by the end of 2021, a total of 10 million tourists will visit the city in southern Turkey.
