The Eiffel Tower, which was reopened to the public in July after almost nine months of forced closure, restored attendance to the pre-pandemic level in October.

During the October weekends, the number of visitors reached more than 20,000 people, which exceeds the figure of October 2019, the management company SETE reported. It notes that currently 10% of visitors are US citizens.

However, the gradual restoration of the attendance of the symbol of Paris will not cover the financial losses incurred as a result of the pandemic. It is expected that 1.5 million people will visit the Eiffel Tower by the end of 2021, compared to 6.2 million in 2019.

According to SETE's forecast, losses will amount to 75 million euros this year.
