The press service of Mospriroda announced the start of the annual campaign “Falling Leaves of Good Deeds”. From September 4 to October 31, anyone can make or repair feeders for birds and squirrels or collect edible gifts to feed animals in winter.
Self-made feeders can be handed over to eco-centers or directorates of natural areas of the Mospriroda. Products must be made of wood. The roof is best painted with waterproof paint or treated with impregnation. At the same time, the slope must be made so that snow does not linger on the roof.
You can also bring supplies of food for animals and birds for the winter. For example, you can prepare dried rowan and hawthorn berries, acorns, hay, unroasted and unsalted seeds, wild grass seeds, unsalted lard and special grain feed.
The Mospriroda reminded that the collection and procurement of all types of plants is prohibited in specially protected natural areas.
During the campaign period, classes and master classes will be held in natural areas and eco-centers. Children and adults will be able to learn about the wintering habits of animals, the rules for feeding them, and learn how to make feeders.
In addition, from October 1 to October 15, anyone can become a participant in another “Forest Gifts” campaign. Visitors to the Zelenogradsky reserve can bring treats for the fallow deer - acorns, nuts and chestnut fruits. These nutritious and healthy treats for fallow deer will be especially useful to them during the coldest time of the year.
