The XVI International Wildlife Festival "Golden Turtle" will open in the capital on October 14 in the western wing of the New Tretyakov Gallery and will last until November 20.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia on its website, the project "in an accessible form demonstrates to a wide audience the beauty of nature and the inseparable connection of man with the outside world."
This year, more than 4,000 authors from 111 countries took part in the photography competition. 425 best works will be presented to the attention of visitors.
“Modern, bold, emotional – the festival strikes the imagination and provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of wildlife, experience the joy of discovery, and be filled with emotions. We invite residents and guests of the capital to share these inexpressible feelings with us,” said Andrei Sukhinin, president of the Golden Turtle festival, quoted by the ministry.
October 22 at the "Golden Turtle" will be a thematic day dedicated to specially protected natural areas of the country - the best experts of the reserve system will talk about the environmental, scientific and tourist activities of reserves and national parks in Russia.
“As part of the thematic Day of Reserved Territories, we will introduce the guests of the Golden Turtle to rare species of animals that are preserved within the boundaries of nature reserves and national parks, present the most interesting eco-routes, and tell you how to become a reserve volunteer,” said Darya, head of the Federal Reserve Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. In addition, there will be master classes and film screenings aimed at popularizing knowledge about the protected system.
