The 7th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo will be held at Speake Resort Munyonyo, in Uganda from 26 to 29 April.
The expo will be convened under the theme "Explore Uganda The Pearl of Africa."
Uganda Tourism Board chief executive Lilly Ajarova said 100 African expert tour operators had been invited to attend the expo.
"These people will visit Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, and then include our lovely destination in their Africa itineraries in the coming months," she said.
“As a result, Uganda will receive more visitors and the related benefits such as increased tourism revenue and employment."
Ajarova said visitors will come from South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Egypt, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
“We are being very strategic on whom we are inviting on this ticket, in tourism you have to be very strategic on whom you want to sell your destination to,” she said.
The global tourism sector has now recovered to 65% of pre-pandemic arrivals, according to the World Tourist and Travel Council (WTTC).
The sector was projected to fully recover this year and beyond.
