Online short-term rental service Airbnb announced requirements for cleaning and disinfection in the context of a coronavirus pandemic.

The new regulation provides the issuance of certificates to homeowners who have been trained in accordance with the new hygiene rules based on the recommendations of US health authorities.

Airbnb provides homeowners with all the necessary information about COVID-19 prevention, including personal protective equipment for owners and their hired cleaners, as well as a list of approved cleaning sanitizers.

Homeowners who have passed the certification are recommended to take a 24-hour hygienic pause before each new settlement. For those who did not receive Airbnb, this period is proposed to be increased to 72 hours.

The company at the end of March allocated $ 250 million to mitigate the financial losses of homeowners who faced a wave of cancellations due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
