A special cooperation agreement was signed by representatives of the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Rossiya municipal agricultural enterprise. It is aimed at forming the concept of creating an agro-industrial technopark "Subtropics of Russia". The agreement provides for the support of scientific and technical information on researched and developed materials for the production of new progressive products and the development of high technologies.

– Such work is a natural continuation of the scientific activities of our Center. Cooperation with agricultural producers allows us to implement the import substitution strategy. It is very important to create varieties that are resistant to local weather conditions and test them on experimental plantations, but it is equally important to introduce all the developments into mass production, - said the director of the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Ryndin.

The creation of the agro-industrial technopark "Subtropics of Russia" will create the basis for the future development of the agro-industrial complex of the resort city of Sochi.

"In 2021, I took over the leadership of the Rossiya state farm and found it in far from the best economic condition. This is unacceptable for an enterprise with such a rich history. The state farm has about 100 hectares of agricultural land. We plan to use them for growing subtropical crops, taking into account the latest scientific knowledge and using IT technologies. Sustainable development will create more jobs. All this is possible only in close cooperation with science and the support of the city administration,” said Acting Director Denis Ivlev.

Another promising area of development is agritourism and scientific tourism. The opportunity to walk through the gardens, taste the fruits directly from the tree will give vacationers and residents of the city an unforgettable experience. In the field of scientific tourism, the first steps were taken already in November last year - the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences entered the new tourist popular science route.
