The press service of the Russian Union of the Tourist Industry has reported that according to the Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov, the agreement on mutual recognition of visas between Russia and Belarus should start working in 2024. The document has already been ratified by the governments of the two countries. Technical preparation for its entry into force is currently underway.
Thanks to the agreement, foreign tourists will be able to travel in a single union space. Joint tourist routes should be developed by the time it comes into effect.
To date, flights from Belarus operate to 16 regions of Russia. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, at least 30 Russian regions are interested in developing air traffic with the republic. It is also planned to restore the network of railway routes and launch tourist trains.
