The all-season resort Vasta Valley is planned to be built in 2029 in the Sochi mountain cluster. The project investor is Interros. The new resort will develop health, skiing, ecological and other types of tourism. The parameters are impressive - the resort will be located on the territory of 3.8 thousand hectares, the total area of buildings and structures will be 322 thousand square meters. 13 kilometers of new cable cars will connect 80 kilometers of ski slopes. Together with the already functioning slopes of the Sochi mountain cluster, the total ski area will be 300 kilometers.
"The President has set the task of accelerating the development of domestic tourism. The Krasnodar Territory, Sochi itself, is one of the most visited places in Russia. If we evaluate the ambitiousness of the Vasta Valley project, the city has not seen such a large-scale construction since the Olympics. Modern hotels of categories will be built here - 3, 4, 5 stars, apart-hotels, balneological boarding house-clinic. 3.5 thousand rooms in new hotels will be able to accommodate almost 8 thousand people at a time. 2.5 thousand new jobs will be created at the facilities of the Vasta Valley, comfortable housing will be built for the staff.
1.5 million people a year will be able to stay at the Vasta Valley. Undoubtedly, the construction will give impetus to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which traditionally accompany such large facilities. The region's budget will receive billions in tax deductions. I am sure that the tools of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" will make it possible to carry out a qualitative infrastructure breakthrough in other regions of Russia," said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
As part of the implementation of measures for the development of the territory, together with the Ministry of Construction of Russia, the Corporation "Tourism.RF" will provide the so-called "orchestration" - interdepartmental coordination for the creation of transport and engineering supporting infrastructure, which is necessary for the implementation of the project.
"The volume of investments in the supporting infrastructure will be up to 30 billion rubles. The project will be implemented subject to mandatory compliance with all environmental legislation," commented Sergei Sukhanov, General Director of the Corporation «Tourism.RF».
Sergey Bachin, General Director of Vasta Discovery, noted that the Vasta Valley resort will become a logical post-Olympic development of Rosa Khutor and will harmoniously complement the existing infrastructure of the Sochi mountain cluster.
"This will significantly expand the tourist opportunities of the Krasnodar Territory as a whole as the most attractive destination for recreation in our country," Sergey Bachin said.
The head of the city of Sochi, Aleksey Kopaygorodsky, expects that the creation of the new Vasta Valley resort will give a further impetus to the development of the entire mountain cluster with an emphasis on health improvement and balneological opportunities in Sochi.
“The integrated development of this tourist area is very important for us. Sochi is the only year-round resort in Russia, and the expansion of the resort infrastructure will contribute to the formation of domestic and international tourism potential,” commented the mayor of the resort city.
An agreement on the joint implementation of the all-season mountain resort "Vasta Valley" within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" between the companies "Interros", "Vasta Discovery", "VEB.RF" and "Tourism.RF" was signed as part of the SPIEF-2021 in presence of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Chairman of VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov.
