On August 12, a cultural and tourist event for the whole family - "Rovdina Gora Fest" will be held in the Kholmogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk region on Kurostrov.
"For the fifth time, hundreds of guests will gather at the old mill on the Rovdina Mountain to spend time in the atmosphere of a "village holiday", to be inspired by the special romance and colors of August," the Travel portal of the Arkhangelsk region reported.
The program of the festival includes creative workshops, games for children and animation, a fair of northern masters and artists, ear in Rovdogorsky and other treats, excursions on the Rovdina Mountain and in the museum of M. V. Lomonosov, as well as six hours of diverse music from folk to heavy rock, from jazz to ambient and electronics.
"During the excursions, guests will get acquainted with the history and legends of Kurostrov, the birthplace of M. V. Lomonosov and sculptor F. I. Shubin, learn about the device of the northern mills, the evolution of traditional boats and the shipyard of S. M. Negodyaev—Kochnev, which worked in the 18th century on the Rovdina Mountain," the portal notes.
Adults and children will also be able to get acquainted with the art of creating linocuts, paint a souvenir house made of wood for memory, make a three-dimensional toy made of paper, a cheerful smiley made of polymer clay or a chamomile ring made of beads, learn to dance a tribal, comprehend the basics of karate mastery or try on the role of a master of Kholmogorsky bone carving.
The culmination of the holiday will be a fire show from the creative theater "Convergence". The festival will end with performances by ambient musicians accompanied by video art.
"This year, for the first time, the organizers offer guests to stay overnight on the Rovdina Mountain in a tent camp, for which a common place for a bonfire, water from a well, boiling water, as well as a toilet and the opportunity to charge batteries will be organized. Tents and sleeping bags must be brought with you.
