A unified database on the state of the Siberian tiger population will be created in Russia, as reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia following a meeting of the working group on the conservation and restoration of the Siberian tiger.
The digital unified database will include the entire amount of information on the current distribution, abundance, biology and ecology, as well as data on the status of the habitats of the Siberian tiger, including the status of the populations of the main species of their victims, specified in the department. They added that the work on maintaining this base is supposed to be assigned to the subordinate Ministry of Natural Resources, Roszapovedtsentr.
The meeting participants also considered the draft on the implementation of measures aimed at the conservation of the Siberian tiger in the framework of the national project “Ecology”.
