A new tourist trail to the place of juniper trees, which are several hundred years old, has appeared on Yamal, the administration of Salekhard reports.

"Professional forester Irina Zubkova has been studying the Arctic fauna for a long time. Recently, she received the exact coordinates of the ancient juniper tract. It turned out that it was not far from Mount Chernaya," the message says.

The unique place was discovered a quarter of a century ago by the famous Soviet scientist Stepan Shiyatov. During the expedition, he explored the landscape of the Polar Urals, at the same time he came across a tract of ancient junipers more than 500 years old.
