The Onekotan Archipelago company, a resident of the Kuriles priority development territory, will create a recreational cluster on the Kuril Islands and develop various types of tourism there: expeditionary, ecological, cruise, balneological, gastronomic.

Starting from 2024, tourist facilities will gradually appear on the islands of Paramushir, Onekotan, Shumshu, Shishkotan, Atlasova, Kharimkotan, Rasshua and Ushishir.

According to the website of the corporation for the development of the Far East and the Arctic, the volume of private investments in the project will amount to 900 million rubles.

A tourist village will appear in Shelekhov Bay on Paramushir Island. It is planned to build houses to accommodate tourists etc. In addition, hiking trails with halts and viewing platforms with panoramic views will be equipped in the bay. Travelers will be offered excursions and fishing trips, and fans of extreme sports will appreciate mountain bike trails and quad biking, snowmobiling and kayaking.

On Onekotan Island, it is planned to equip the coastline for mooring boats and lay up to 30 km of excursion routes for hikers. There is a unique place on the island - a lake with the Krenitsyn volcano inside. It is considered one of the most picturesque in the world and can become a point of attraction for tourists.

On the island of Shumshu, travelers can climb Mount Visokaya and visit the open-air museum.

In addition, it is planned to build glamping sites on the Kuril Islands.
