Supported by Norilsk Nickel, the Arctic State University plans to create a permafrost range on the territory of the Norilsk industrial region. The concept of a unique platform for studying permafrost and testing new technologies in the harsh conditions of the Far North at the Arctic State University was discussed together with leading Russian experts in the field of permafrost and employees of the Arctic Branch of Norilsk Nickel. In the summer of 2023, employees and students of the Moscow State University, together with Arctic State University students, will conduct a set of field studies and choose the location of the range.
The Ministry of Regional Security of the Murmansk Region has developed a draft regulatory act that eases the possibilities of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for photography and videography
