On September 24, a pier was opened on the territory of the Volga Sea tourist cluster (Zavidovo, Tver region). Construction is also underway on a river station building, which is scheduled to open next year, Rostourism reported on its website.

"Passengers of the ship" Leo Tolstoy "became the first who made a tour of the tourist facilities of the resort," the department noted.

According to the Federal Tourism Agency, the Volga Sea cluster will combine a large transport interchange hub: road, rail and water tourism transport.

It is planned that the passenger turnover will be more than a thousand people a day. The river port will be able to receive cruise liners, pleasure boats, sports and small-sized types of water transport.

“One of the largest tour operators in Russia, Vodokhod, became the first company to launch cruise tours with a visit to the Zavidovo resort. Tourists will be offered a full-fledged overview program around the resort, a visit to the modern Konakovskiy Faience complex, an eco-farm with a tasting of farm products, an excursion to a sturgeon factory, a golf tournament, and activities in an equestrian club.

The Volga Sea project provides for the formation of a developed tourist infrastructure.

“By 2025, the following will be built: an all-season water entertainment center, a congress center with a show hall, three new hotels with 1,130 rooms, a ski slope,” the report says.

The investment project to create a tourist and recreational cluster "Volga Sea" has been implemented in the Tver region since 2019 with the support of Rostourism.
