This was announced by the head of the resort, Alexey Kopaygorodsky. Since the beginning of the year, 5 million 384 thousand guests have vacationed at the resort. August turned out to be the most massive in terms of tourist flow - over a million guests. This is 3.2% more than in the same period last year.
– Today, the resort’s accommodation facilities on the coast are 90% occupied, and slightly less so in the mountains. Almost 200 thousand guests are in the city at any one time. We see a tendency to maintain a high tourist flow during the high season - more than 70% of accommodation facilities have already been booked by the end of October,” noted Sochi Mayor Alexey Kopaygorodsky.
Enhanced monitoring of sea water quality will continue at all beaches in September. Since the beginning of the summer season, Rospotrebnadzor specialists have taken almost five thousand samples; no non-standard samples have been identified during the season. The sanitary and epidemiological background at the resort remains within normal limits. The population and tourists are informed about the rules of staying at the resort and safety measures. Centralized vaccination against the seasonal influenza virus will be organized for employees of health resort and catering industry enterprises. Clinics and mobile units will be opened for the population. Work has been intensified to prevent fires due to the persistent hot weather in the region. All services of the Caucasus State Natural Biosphere Reserve and Sochi National Park are on high alert, conducting an active information campaign on their territories about the rules of conduct in the forest among tourists and the population.
