A total of 20 million French residents will spend their Christmas holidays at sea or in the mountains. Due to anti-covid restrictions, many French people have chosen France as their vacation destination – the number of hotel bookings is approaching the figures in the years preceding the Covid-19 pandemic, Europe1 reported.

In addition to France, the French have chosen the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Senegal, the UAE, the Dominican Republic or Mauritius as winter holiday destinations.

The main losers this year were European megacities, primarily Paris, where the absence of foreign tourists is still felt acutely.
