Today, July 1, WWF-Russia celebrates its 27th anniversary. In total, over the years of work with the participation of WWF Russia, more than 145 nature reserves, national parks and other federal and regional specially protected natural areas with a total area of 72 million hectares have been created, of which 65 million are in Russia. This is almost a quarter of all specially protected natural areas existing in Russia today.

“For three decades, we have managed to restore the populations of a number of animal species,” says Dmitry Gorshkov, director of WWF Russia. "New technologies are changing the way we work, and we are already looking for pollution from satellites, counting saigas and bison using drones, and snow leopards - using mobile applications, and learning to find a common language with neural networks."
