Scientists at Sochi National Park explain this by the heat. Typically, wisteria, which is native to Japan and China, blooms twice a year - in spring and mid-summer. In Sochi, a plant with clusters of lilac flowers can be found in different parts of the resort, including the famous Arboretum park.
“Apparently, due to the heat, the plant decided to repeat flowering; this is not a unique phenomenon, but also not an ordinary one,” the press service of the national park notes.
Since the beginning of August, intense heat has set in in Sochi; the first rains began only on the third of September. Today the weather in the city is quite hot, the air temperature remains around 30 degrees Celsius.
