Water competitions will be held on July 12 in the village of Morshchikhinskaya, the Arkhangelsk region.
“Kenozero Regatta is a competition in rowing boats and a parade of home-made watercraft. Participants of the sports festival in the Kenozero National Park will have to overcome a distance of three kilometers along the surface of Lekshmozero,” the national tourist portal Russia.travel reports.
The regatta program includes three starts. These are races on home-made folk boats over 5 m long, small boat competitions (up to 5 m), competitions on modern boats made of plastic or aluminum.
Those who do not have their own boat will be able to participate in the guest race for 1.5 km.
“The regatta is timed to coincide with July 12, the celebration of Peter's Day among the Slavic peoples. On the banks of the Lekshmozero, guests and participants of the competitions will enjoy concerts, interactive and gastronomic venues, folk amusements and games. All this is on a fishing theme, because the apostle Peter is popularly considered the patron saint of fishermen,” the portal notes.
Participants of the Kenozero regatta will be able to take a master class on cooking the traditional "perch ear", join the gatherings around the fire with herbal tea and folk songs to the accordion.
