The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, said that at present, the pupils of the Leopard Restoration Center in Sochi Chilmas and Achipse are preparing for life in the wild.
"We are planning to release them into the wild in the summer, now we are waiting for the conclusion of the Russian Academy of Sciences," Kozlov said during a meeting of the President of the Russian Federation with members of the government.
He recalled that thanks to the work of the Leopard Restoration Center, nine predators already live in the wild nature of the Caucasus.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
