On May 1, Tutaev hosted the traditional half-marathon “May. World. Youth".
More than a thousand people from 35 regions of Russia have registered for it. This was announced by the Department of Tourism of the Yaroslavl region on its website.
The sporting event was combined with a bright program of impressions - the route passed by the historical sights of the city, the participants had a colorful view of the Volga.
The half marathon in Tutaev was the first of 10 starts of the new season of the "Pharmeco - Running along the Golden Ring" project.
Races were also held in Moscow, Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Rostov, Pereslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo and Myshkin, and an online race was organized in Uglich this season.
Interesting and rich excursion programs for children and adults were prepared in all cities of the Yaroslavl region, where the project races took place, the report says.
One of the programs made it possible to get acquainted with the ancient city of Romanov-Borisoglebsk in an hour and a half - this was the name Tutaev bore until 1918.
Accompanied by a guide, the guests were able to walk along the provincial streets, admire the panoramic views of the left bank of the Volga, see frescoes of the 17th century, plunge into the real life of the Upper Volga merchants.
