Known as the Long Bridge of Dreams, the Shiziguan floating bridge, located in Xuan'en County of southwestern Hubei province, China, is one of the most famous pontoon bridges in the world. It is a sight to behold as it is tucked away within Shiziguan surrounded by lush green trees and a river. The wooden plank bridge gives people an amazing experience like they're moving on a water surface.
Nordhordland Bridge, Norway
This beauty crosses Salhusfjorden between Klauvaneset (in Bergen Municipality) and the island of Flatøy (in Alver Municipality) in Vestland county, Norway. It is about 5,295 ft long and is a combination of cable-stayed and pontoon bridges. The pontoon part of the bridge was made by the use of Norwegian offshore technology.
Lake Washington Bridge
Also known as Third Lake Washington Bridge, this floating bridge is in the Seattle metropolitan area, Washington, US. It is the fifth-longest floating bridge in the world and runs as long as 5,811 feet. An earlier part of the bridge sank in 1990 during refurbishment and repair. The current bridge was built in 1993.
William R. Bennett Bridge, Canada
The William R. Bennett Bridge extends across Okanagan Lake, connecting the communities of Kelowna and Westbank, in the interior of British Columbia. Extending 1,060 metres long in total, the floating bridge can pitch, roll, yaw, move up and down, and respond dynamically to waves and wind.
