Tours along the "Silver Necklace" will unite the cultural and historical centers of the North-West

The interregional tourist project "Silver Necklace" will allow creating tourist routes within several regions and accumulating tourist flows, the press service of the administration of the Leningrad Region reports.

The project will unite 11 regions: St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Pskov, Novgorod regions, the Republics of Karelia and Komi and the Nenets Autonomous Region.

New inter-regional routes will allow tourists to see numerous fortresses, temples, palaces and estates in the north-west of the country.

In addition, scientific and industrial tourism will be developed. Travelers will be able to see Soviet hydroelectric power plants, a modern nuclear power plant and other historical industrial facilities.
