On September 18, the State Historical Museum will host a “Tourism Day” as part of the “Days of the Sakhalin Region”. The event is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the formation of the region and is held as part of the all-Russian project “Your Country”.
“The Sakhalin Region opens the federal project with the Sakhalin and Kuriles: Through Time exhibition and a set of events highlighting important aspects of the region’s development in the field of ecology, climate, education, culture and, of course, tourism,” Rostourism reports on its website.
Part of the program will be devoted to the tourism potential of the Sakhalin Region and the national tourist route "The Day Begins Here".
Participants will also be introduced to the annual campaign “Your Bright Winter on Sakhalin”, which during the ski season helps tourists save a lot on island holidays.
“In an interactive game form, guests will learn about the features of an island winter holiday, and will also become participants in the drawing of prizes from the partners of the action - certificates for excursions and tours around Sakhalin,” the Rostourism noted.
Visitors will also be able to travel virtually to Sakhalin to see its beauties with their own eyes.
“VR glasses and the most realistic 3D video from the AirPano project will allow participants to take a bird’s eye view of the island’s attractions. Already famous all over the country Aniva Lighthouse, Cape Evstafiya and Turquoise Lakes, Tikhaya Bay - any of these places will be able to visit the guests of the event," the ministry said.
