Mishka, Mashka and Tyopa spent the summer in a special shelter after the indifferent residents of the Altai Territory applied to the reserve.
“You have to understand that the cubs are left without mothers mainly through human fault and are doomed to life imprisonment in circuses and zoos, or to a sadder fate. This year, the cubs were brought at the beginning of summer from the Altai Territory and the Ongudaysky District of the Altai Republic, when they weighed several times less, were almost not afraid of people, suffered from parasites and were absolutely not ready for an independent life," the reserve said.
During the summer, the reserve staff, with the support of specialists from the Orphan Bears Rescue Center (Tver Region), worked to bring them back into the wild. By September, the animals grew up, became much stronger, and in behavior and temperament turned into real wild animals.
“For the release of the cubs, the shore of Lake Teletskoye, remote from settlements and cordons, was chosen, on which the appearance of adults was not observed during this season and the possibility of meeting people was excluded,” the reserve said.
The clubfoot was transported to a new habitat on a motor ship, they transferred the road well and immediately began to settle in a new place. The staff of the reserve saw how the cubs quickly found each other and went up the mountain slopes into the taiga.
