The official website of the mayor of Moscow announced the “Theater March” festival, which will take place on September 9 in the capital’s Hermitage garden. From 12:00 to 23:00, spectators will be able to watch various open-air performances from nine Moscow theaters.
“The program of the open-air festival was compiled based on the preferences of spectators of different ages. Guests will be treated to dramatic, musical, plastic performances and a special children’s program,” the statement says.
The festival is attended by troupes of the Teresa Durova Theater, the A-Ya Musical and Drama Theater, the K.S. Musical Theater. Stanislavsky and V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, Moscow Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin, “School of Modern Play”, “School of Dramatic Art”, Moscow Theater “New Opera” named after E.V. Kolobov. In addition, three performances will be presented by the Moscow Taganka Theater.
More than a century ago, it was in the Hermitage Garden that the Moscow Art Academic Theater was born. Premieres of Chekhov's plays “The Seagull” and “Uncle Vanya” took place here under the direction of Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko.
