The authors of the famous cartoon “Smeshariki” are preparing to release a full-length work about the extraordinary creatures that live in the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park. The fabulous full-length cartoon “Tales of the Yenisei” was one of 12 films that were selected by the Cinema Fund to support the production of animated national films. The leading director of “Smesharikov”, director of the animated film “Finnik” Denis Chernov and screenwriter Tatyana Belova, who have visited Krasnoyarsk more than once, are working on the project. This is reported on the official website of the national park.
“When we got acquainted with the nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, we wanted to talk about places that few people know about, but they certainly claim to play a full role in the picture. For many, a unique natural phenomenon in Krasnoyarsk - the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park - can be a discovery. Now we are faced with a major task - to make a documentary-fiction film with an unreal story in real places,” said Denis Chernov, whose words are quoted on the website.
The director said that the project could take 3-4 years to complete.
As noted in the national park, the film will be dedicated to a magical creature named Kikirya, who comes to Siberia for the summer holidays, where adventures await him.
“According to the creators of the cartoon, the meaning of the project is unity with the native land, with nature and a team of like-minded people,” the national park said in a statement.
