The Khakassi reserve has launched the implementation of a project to restore a Przhevalsky horse’s semi-wild population. For this purpose, the reserve staff went on an internship to the Horse Reintroduction Center of the Przhevalsky State Nature Reserve “Orenburgsky” - the first territory of Russia where the program for creating a semi-wild population of the Przhekvalsky horse was implemented.
The representatives of the Khakassi reserve got acquainted with the lifestyle, behavior, nutrition, hierarchy of dominance in the herd and other features of these animals. An important aspect of the internship was a detailed study of the technical part of the infrastructure of the Reintroduction Center. Employees have already familiarized with the principles of operation of acclimatization pens, enclosures for trapping andre-examination, awnings from adverse weather conditions and the quarantine zone.
The Federal State Budgetary Institution Orenburg Reserves and the Khakasski State Nature Reserve signed an agreement and launched the internship in accordance with a joint action plan.
