In his weekly briefing online, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, announced that preparations for the opening of Bali tourism were continuing, but were adjusted to the Covid-19 conditions at home and abroad.
Amid a recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, of which Bali has also seen an increase in numbers, Sandiaga Uno stated that ‘The plan to open Bali to tourists will continue but it must consider the latest situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic.’
"We will adjust the announcement of when (to open Bali tourism for foreign tourists) with the more conducive Covid situation. The preparations are still at 90 per cent level for the preparation of the travel corridor arrangements. The preparation of aircraft charters as a trial and the progress of these plans has been very significant. But pressing the button to open depends on the current Covid situation. So we have decided that if the situation improves we will finalize it, and if it is not, of course, we will adjust it,” said Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno.
