For the fourth time, the Rosa Khutor resort has become a place of attraction for leading specialists from Russia and foreign countries, who share their experience in the field of sustainable development of natural recreation, active tourism and tourism in specially protected natural areas.

On the agenda is an overview of the key challenges, prospects, trends and risks that stand in the way of sustainable tourism development in protected areas on our planet.

On the first day of the event, a plenary opening session "Tourism in protected areas: challenges and prospects" was held, as well as discussion sessions, during which experts discussed tourism in protected areas (Krasnoyarsk Territory), wildlife and the world of travel: good neighborliness and well-being, safe tourism and infrastructure for nature tourism.

The so-called toolkit "Green standards" for the design and construction of infrastructure, focused on environmental protection, human well-being and economic efficiency, came to the Russian development market in the wake of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

They give the customer a flexible evaluative approach to managing the quality of designed and constructed objects, and the contractor - practical guidance and expert support to achieve the best result. In 2021, the Rosa Khutor Resort took an initiative to form green standards for the design and construction of infrastructure in the sector of natural recreation and tourism in protected areas, using its own corporate standard - "Green Code" as a blank.

In addition, a joint session of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) took place: «The UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration: Reconsider, Recreate, Restore!». FAO spoke about initiatives and activities within the framework of the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) aimed at halting ecosystem degradation and restoring them in order to achieve UN global goals and presented key messages of the sixth UNEP report from the Global Environment Outlook series.

The conference will be held from 6 to 8 October 2021 at the mountain resort «Rosa Khutor».
