The annual educational festival in the field of sustainable development "VuzEcoFest - 2021" started yesterday.
The event, which will be attended by about 60 higher educational institutions, is being held in Russia and the Republic of Belarus from April 19 to 30, as per the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
The main topic of this year is “Technologies in Ecology”.
For two weeks running, the participants of the festival - students, schoolchildren and active youth - will study technologies and assess the scientific and technological potential of higher educational institutions in the field of ecology. During the festival training seminars and webinars will be held. The topics presented will be included in the guide on the disclosure of the technological potential of universities in the field of ecology. A pool of youth projects in the field of sustainable development will be formed as well.
“We want VuzEcoFest-2021 to become not only an opportunity to see themselves in the field of science and give the opportunity to reveal their creative potential, to bring scientific novelty, but also to help the participants identify key technologies that will allow them to approach the solution of existing problems in a qualitatively different way. It will be related to climate change, for example. We see that today great attention is paid to reducing the energy and carbon footprint of the economy, the formation of digital reality, therefore, without scientific discoveries and the introduction of advanced technologies, otherwise it will be difficult for an organization to move to sustainable development,” said Anastasia Okorochkova, co-founder and director of the VuzEcoFest project.
