The Geographical Dictation of the Russian Geographical Society will be held for the fifth time in Russia and abroad on October 27, 2019. The dictation will be held at 5,831 venues in 109 countries, including Russia, the UK, Austria, Iran, Egypt, Japan, Australia and others. As per a report from the Russian Geographical Society, the dictation is to start on October 27 at 12:00 local time. The participants are asked to come to the venue in advance to receive forms, find a seat and take part in this exciting quiz. The exact schedule of the venues can be found on their official sites.

A step-by-step instruction on how to write the dictation was created in the Russian Geographical Society. It is available on the official website of the Geographical Dictation dictant.rgo.ru. After November 29, the personal results can be found the official page of the event.
The Russian Geographical Society noted that the dictation will take place online on the project website: dictant.rgo.ru. on October 27 at 14:00 Moscow time. Moreover, the link will be active within five days - until 14:00, October 31.
The Geographical dictation of the Russian Geographical Society is a large-scale international educational campaign, initiated by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, will be held by the Russian Geographical Society for the fifth time. It is already known that this year the initiative will take place at more than 5,700 venues on five continents. Dictations will be written in Russia, the USA, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Cambodia, Greece, Norway, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand and many other countries.
The dictation will also take place in the capital of France. In Paris, everyone will be able to test their knowledge of Russian geography in the Orthodox Cultural and Spiritual Center at Quai Branly, 75007, not far from the Eiffel Tower.

The dictation will be held in universities, schools, libraries, and other institutions. It can be passed by people traveling by trains, staying at railway stations, in the parks, nature reserves and parks "Russia is my history", in the Moscow Moskvarium and Kremlin in Izmailovo, Moscow and on the ship-museum "Cruiser Aurora" in St. Petersburg.

The Geographical Dictation is carried out in order to popularize geographical knowledge since 2015. In 2018, more than 376k people took part in the action, and in just four years of the Dictation almost 900k people became its participants! Last year it was already traditionally possible to become a participant of the initiative not only in Russia but also abroad: the dictation was held in 99 countries of the world at 3,532 venues.
In Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan became the leader in the number of venues, where the Dictation was held in 416 organizations. Leaders abroad were China (10 venues) and the Republic of Belarus (9 venues) abroad. More than 257 thousand people wrote Dictation at the venues, another 119 thousand people checked their knowledge online.
