The all-season resort "Caspian Coastal Cluster" is being created in the Derbent district of Dagestan, the project will be implemented in several stages. Engineering design is already underway, and the design of hotels, restaurants and amusement parks will begin soon. The creation of the resort was discussed at a meeting on the development of the republic with the participation of the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, according to the agency's website.

According to the concept of the project, it is planned to create 28 hotels with 7.2 thousand rooms, shopping centers, restaurants, sports and entertainment facilities, parks.
According to the CEO of Kavkaz.Russia" by Andrey Yumshanov, the project has 17 potential investors ready to build large hotels, entertainment centers and catering facilities.
"The leaders of the hotel market, in particular Azimut and Cosmos Group, are showing interest in the resort, so I am convinced that together with the region and business we will create a unique project for the entire North Caucasus," the ministry quotes Yumshanov.
An important part of the new resort will be the All-Russian Children's Center "Dagestan", which will be able to receive 1.5 thousand children annually.
The meeting also discussed the creation of a modern transport infrastructure that will allow comfortable access to the resort.
"In particular, it was about the reconstruction of the nearest railway station and the launch of a high-speed shuttle from the airport. To increase the capacity of Makhachkala Airport, the second stage of reconstruction has begun," the Ministry of Economic Development reported.
According to Reshetnikov, Dagestan became the leader in the country in terms of the increase in the number of tourist trips by the end of last year: more than 430 thousand travelers stayed in hotels last year alone.
"The average level of tourist trips in Dagestan has been exceeded 2.5 times by the end of 2023, we see a great demand from tourists to visit the republic. Now the main task is to take advantage of the wave of demand to tighten the infrastructure, create a new number of rooms, points of attraction," the minister's words are quoted in the message.
