The competitions will take place at the Rosa Khutor resort on October 21 and 23. Currently, national mountain running competitions are held in 19 regions of the country. According to the calendar plan of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the season usually opens in April in the Stavropol Territory and closes in Sochi in October. Its results will be summed up during the upcoming races at the Rosa Khutor resort. The best athletes in this sport will be determined on October 21 at the competitions of the Cup of Russia in mountain running up and at the National Championship in mountain running over a long distance - on October 23. Their organizer is the All-Russian Federation of Athletics (VFLA).
At the Cup of Russia in mountain running up, the length of the distances will be: 1163 m, 3027 m, 4177 m, 6150 m. They will go along the ski slopes to the top of Rosa Peak with a finish at different heights. The best mountain runners will be determined in the children's, junior, basic, senior and veteran age categories. Competitions will start at 11.00 in the Mountain Olympic Village, and at 14.30 the winners will be awarded here.
On October 23, Rosa Khutor will host the men's and women's starts of the Russian Long Distance Mountain Running Championship. Athletes will have to overcome 23,165 meters with a climb and drop of 1811 m. The distance is laid along the route from the Mountain Olympic Village to Rosa Peak - down the Southern slope to the lower station of the Veronica cable car - back through Rosa Peak in the GOD. The beginning of the competition at 11.00, finish - at 13.00, awarding the winners - at 14.00 in the Mountain Olympic Village.
