The engineering company National Ropeways (NKD, a subsidiary of Kavkaz.RF) has begun designing a cableway over three kilometers long across the Oka River in Nizhny Novgorod. It will connect the Zarechnaya metro station and the Switzerland park area. This was reported by the company "Kavkaz.RF" on its website.
“Specialists have calculated that such a route will reduce the travel time between the two regions by an average of half an hour (compared to a car trip), and the passenger flow is estimated at 10,000 people per day. Commissioning will be carried out in 2025, while the main task of launching the cable car is not only walks over the river for tourists, but, above all, functioning as a full-fledged part of the public transport system,” the report says.
The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has entered into a concession agreement with the Urbantech Group for the design, construction and operation of the cable car, in which NKD acts as a technology partner. Urbantech's investments in the project will amount to about 4.3 billion rubles.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
